Field Service Technician

Based in Houston, TX, Global Instrumentation Services (GIS) is an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited provider of on-site calibrations for the plastics, rubber, and chemical industries. With an extensive scope of calibration capabilities, GIS delivers high quality work and excellent service to a broad client base spanning North America.

Due to exceptional growth, GIS is seeking qualified individuals to join our field service team. Our highly rewarding Field Service Calibration positions are based in Houston, TX, and require travel throughout North America up to 50% of the time.

Responsibilities:

  • Calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, and provide maintenance on a broad range of testing and analytical instruments
  • Pay meticulous attention to detail, delivering the highest level of quality in every aspect of the job assignment
  • Complete calibration/service reports in accordance with company policy
  • Participate in ISO 17025 audits, proficiency testing, and quality improvement events
  • Operate within full compliance of all company policies and procedures
  • Foster stellar client relationships and promote client satisfaction through impeccable service
  • Maintain professional behavior, appearance, and attire on and off client sites
  • Continue to advance technical skills, calibration, and quality assurance knowledge

Requirements:

  • Must be able to work independently, with excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills, to allow for strong working relationships with clients and co-workers
  • Strong technical aptitude and learning ability
  • Excellent math skills and knowledge of physics and chemistry fundamentals
  • Sound knowledge of MS Excel
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs
  • Ability to travel throughout North America (all travel expenses paid for by the company)
  • Must possess a valid TX drivers license and US passport
  • Have a fully operational, reliable, and insured vehicle
  • Must pass background check and drug screening
  • Knowledge of plastics testing, or background in plastics manufacturing is highly desirable
